Pilot Premise:
Widow Black opens with main character, Olivia Black, stabbing her husband and then calmly getting up and cleaning herself off. Olivia proceeds to dye her hair and head to her next city, this time Seattle. During the pilot viewers will see some flashbacks in her life and learn over the course of the season about her other husbands. A prosecutor by trade, Olivia Black is hired as an Assistant District Attorney in Seattle, and as she punishes murderers she remains on the look out for her next victim. Meanwhile, Detective Robert Downing has been on her trail for 15 years, since the mysterious murder of John Lackey and disappearance of his wife...while Olivia thinks she has everything under control, Detective Downing shows up in her office to discuss a murder victim.

Olivia Black (Ellen Pompeo) - Main character. She is a cunning and beautiful attorney, with a wonderful track record and happy demeanor. Olivia has been married seven times, but is single, and as she starts anew once again she remains on the look out for another victim. (White female, early 40s)
Robert Downing (Sam Waterston) - Homocide Detective. He is intelligent and has been focused on the murder of Olivia's first husband and her disappearance for years, he has recently transferred to Seattle where Olivia has now moved. He initially does not recognize Olivia. (White male, 50s/60s)
SUPPORTING CHARACTERS
District Attorney John Scott (Tyler Hoechlin) - Seattle District Attorney. Friendly and newly elected. Hires Olivia based on an attraction to her, and the two quickly hit it off. (Male, 30s)
Maria Espinosa (Bebe Neuwirth) - Secretary and "friend" to Olivia, quickly becomes oddly protective of her boss.
Cody Calafiore (Dylan O’Brien) - Neighbor to Olivia. Young, attractive soccer player. He becomes obsessed with her and could pose a problem.

Hank Ross (Jared Padalecki) - A man Olivia dates for a three episodes, will become her first victim in Seattle. Investment banker.
