Characters:
The Driver (Alexander Skarsgård) - A loner who finds comfort in his car and the road more than anyone till he met Mia. But now her death brings unhappy memories and force him to show himself into the light for old enemies as he hunts down Mr. S, his wife's killer. He isn't a social guy as he has a good heart but bad intentions. Driver bares says anything but when actions come into play, they speak very loudly.
Peter Ridge (Peter Capaldi) - An Irish mobster and a strip club owner. He is linked into the crime scene and knows who did what and when. Driver and him bump heads as Peter will look for revenge for what Driver did to him.
Mia (Jessica Paré) - Driver wife. She loved how he always thought of others before what he wants. She also knows about his drive obsession and looks a man who knows his machines. Her death will lead Driver out of the dark he has been hiding for 7 years.
Herb Lake Winston (Bruce Campbell) - A fellow officer of the law who wants to keep the peace. He looks into Driver's case and almost finds a link to him and the robbery over in LA 7 years ago that made Driver go into hiding.
Moses Maloney (Morris Chestnut) - Driver's only friend he can trust. Moses lives in the ghetto, so it can be a hiding spot for Driver but Moses questions how Driver become who he is and tries to dig but will learn something that he may not wanna know.
Mr. S (Norman Reedus) - The sinister man who planned Mia's death and was somehow there. He is everything Driver isn't. The ying to his yang as he wears a leather jacket with a silver/white/and black wasp on the back of it. He kills because he feels there is no other way for business. No one knows what he looks like or where he came from or why he killed Driver's wife.

Driver (Alexander Skarsgård) waits under the darkness as he listens to CNN radio in his new ford fusion. He sits waiting as the clock hits 10:42 pm and he sets up his watch onto the steering wheel and sets it for 5 minutes as now the clock says 10;45 pm and he starts it. He sits back as he listens to the timer and the toothpick resting between his teeth. "There are a hundred-thousand of streets in the city..." The clock ticks down. Silence fills the air. "You don't need to know the route..." A bang goes off in the blackness as Driver pays no mind. He changes the car to drive as he slowly drives up to a better position. "You give me a time and a place, I give you a five minute window...." The street light shines on the Driver's mouth as his tooth pick unmoved. "Anything happens in that five minutes and I'm yours...." The driver takes to his glove box and pulls out a police scanner and turns it on to the right frequency. He listens for any reports as one comes into about a possible break in. The timer gets to two and a half minutes. "No matter what." A door is heard blasted open as the driver looks to see his employer and looks away. "Anything that happens a minute either side of that..." The driver grips the steering wheel, hearing the sound of his leather driving gloves against the leather of the steering wheel. "And you're on your own... Kapeesh?" Three dudes run into the back seat of the car as one has a shotgun and panty hose on his head and the other three have ski masks and bags of money with a side arm in their hands. The scanner talks about one squad car is going to check the possible break in out. The driver begins to roar to life till a shout from the three men's direction and then a gun shot at the nearest one to the right near window.
Mia (Jessica Paré) struggles as she knocks down items and lamps down and the smash of glass and other things are heard.
P.O.V. = In front of the backseat, The guy on the right head's explodes as the other two start to shout and panic. The driver takes the car into hyper drive and races down the street and takes a right onto a empty road till a police officer from behind pulls up and starts the sirens as the police scanner says "Check, team. I got a possible getaway vehicle leave the premise." The two guys panic as they scream at each other who's fault is it and how they are done for. The middle guy asks "WHAT THE HELL ARE WE GONNA DO ABOUT FRANK?!".
Mia runs to the bathroom and locks the door. There is a shove into the door as Mia stumbles to find a razor in the cuppies. She finds one as the door is heard smashed in.
P.O.V. - third person, The driver turns a sharp corner and quickly opens the back right door to push Frank right out of the car limp and smashed into a wall. The left guy screams about the bag of money with frank but the Driver doesn't care and the door slams shut by the speed the driver goes. They go off through the narrow alley as the cop is shown behind them. The car goes left as it tries to dodge the incoming cop car as the one through the alley tail ends the incoming cop car making it fly into a pole and the incoming car turns a total 180. The driver drives down the road as his eyes are intense in the rear view mirror as he passes other cars. The police scanner. talks "All units. We have a high speed chase brewing on 24. Subject in a white Ford 2014 fusion, possible near window shattered. Please all officers reply." The driver hears a helicopter fly over them as it searches for the car. "Bravo this is flight control. We are in pursuit of getaway car." The driver sees they are close to the light and takes a detour off almost making the car going into it crash into the wall. "Bravo we may have possible provisional." The car drives quickly under the bridge all the way to a empty truck stop. The driver puts the car in bark as all cops go down the road at both directions to look for them where they took off. The driver listens to the police scanner and the two guys quietly wimping and clinch to their weapons in case.
One trucker who happened to be on the same frequency listens to the reports about the details of the car as he looks up and sees the getaway car and the driver notices as the trucker stares at them. The driver takes his index finger to his mouth and motions to be silent...
Mia is dragged by a masked man as her shins are cut up. A man holding his face with half of his mask over the rest of his face. His back is turned to the camera but you see a tattoo of a black and white wasp with a skull on its end on the back of his neck. He closes the door behind him without turning.
But the trucker doesn't listen as he goes for his phone and the car comes to life and go for a spin a round and goes onto the road as the helicopter is shown above them. "Bravo this is flight control, wee have vehicle in sights." "Got that flight control don't lose their tail." The driver hears the yells of the two as the left one breathes heavy. He grabs his shotgun and looks at the driver who glances at him and makes a "Don't-do-it" look in his eyes in the rear view mirror. "F*** it." The left guy goes out of the window and starts to shoot his shotgun at the helicopter. "Bravo, we have shots fired we have shots fired!" the car roars to even more life as not too soon three cop cars come in full force from the rear. "Copy FC, we have units on pursuit." The guys keeps firing at the cops as he hits one. The car on the left gets the steering shot as it loses control under it's max speed and flips over and onto another incoming car. "Hell yeah! WHOOO!" the guy says as he reloads his gun. The cop cars begin to shoot as shots are heard. The driver takes a right going up into a hill and onto the street that leads into town. But the cops follow. The guy gets his gun loaded and shoot again and hits the middle cars partner which leads to the driver going out with his shotgun and fires. The left guy gets his right shoulder that aims the gun shot and blood sprays in the air. The guy drops the shotgun from lost of control in his right arm and slides into his seat but is interrupted as a bullet flies into his neck and the left guy flings into his seat left hand holding his neck. His buddies begins to freak out and grabs a rag off the floor and brings it to the opposite side as his friend breathes to choke on his own blood. The driver looks at the damage as now looks at the incoming stop light and the traffic of car in the city as he brings his hand to the emergency break. The left guy fades slowly as his friend tries to save him but the left guy knows its too late. The driver waits as the police scanner says 'All units prepare for stoppage. We may have them her...." The driver pulls the emergency breaks as the lights on the opposite sides turn green and the fusion slides quickly around the middle without hitting a single car and into the other lane. "What the...?" the cop cars get embraced by the incoming traffic of cars as both directions the cars smash into the police and left them wrecked as the middle one flips over one car and onto the middle stone road block. The driver quickly drives fast into the lane before the helicopter gets ahead as the driver goes into the left that heads for the ghetto. The middle guy starts to realize they may be saved as he tries to tell his already dead friend they're save. The driver goes down the hood with all the thugs and low lifers staring as the driver pulls into a garage. The driver gets his watch and goes to the door behind him. "See, Greg, we here. Greg? Greg?!" The driver opens the door and grabs Greg and throws him to the ground. "You bastard!" the middle guy goes at him but the driver catches him and slams him onto the car with his forearm crushing his throat. You see the anger on the Driver's face and the intense look of a killer "Your stupid friend is dead." He squeezes a little tighter. "But he was...." "You're alive. You have the cash! Make your life worth something!" The driver lets go as the middle guys drops to the floor and looks at the bloody mess of his friend with the door still open. "The cops will be all over here in 15 minutes." The driver leaves as he knocks on the door and it opens to reveal a big black man, Moses (Morris Chestnut). "Here's the keys. You know what to do." The driver gives the keys and the man nods in response and goes in and the Driver out. Driver stops and turns to look at his friend and says "And make sure baby Sherman gets the hell out too." The driver walks down the garage path and onto the road as we see black 1967 Mustang on the side. Police are heard overheard as does the helicopter. The other thugs pay no mind as they see this all the time. The driver opens the drunk and pulls out a coat and puts it on. Its a white coat as it shows a Smooth tan scorpion on the back. Driver zips it up and gets into the car. POV - Driver side, He sits peacefully as he looks to sees the color of police sirens. He puts the key in and drive off as he looks around and gets out of dodge. "You'll never contact me again.... You'll never find me." The driver sighs and turns on the radio.
Night by Kavinsky ft. Lovefoxx plays as the title in hot pink "DRIVE" display over the city of Phoenix, AZ. The driver drives around as road signs and places show. Till we get in front of the driver and it fades to black.
The driver walks down the hallway of his apartment floor as some people pass by like a group of girls going out for the night at a Mexican Club or the old man with his bulldog pup. The driver pays no mind as he gets to his room 209 and unlocks the door. Driver walks in as he is seen with groceries. He turns on the lights to see the place is a mess as most furniture is wrecked or flipped over with glass everywhere. Driver places the groceries down and takes a step but hears the crushing of glass under his boots. "Mia?" Driver says as he looks around and sees the kitchen which has a pot of boiling water foaming out onto the stove. Driver quickly turns it off and keeps looking. "Mia?" he asks as he sees the bedroom light on. "Mi..." he sees blood on the floor and then says "MIA?" he opens the door to his bedroom to find Mia in her wedding gown on and her arms on her stomach with her neck slit open and her eyes open. Blood covers the white sheets around her body. Her wrists are slit too as she holds a red rose where her hands are. Driver begins to breath hard and shake uncontrollably. He begins to cry but struggles to fight it back. He buckles down as he crouches down and cries. He looks at Mia and sees how peaceful her face looks. "So you were not anywhere near here tonight?"
Driver looks up and sees Detective Officer Herb Lake Winston (Bruce Campbell) in front of him. Driver is now in his seat at the police station as he also has a cup of coffee in his hands. "You know you haven;t said a word since this all happened. Well except when to call the police. If you ask me..." "I... didn't... F***ing... kill... my... wife...." Herb puts his hands up in defensive "Whoa. I wasn't getting at that fully. Just trying to do my job that's all. You can see how this would looks. Last person to see her alive... Last person to see her...." "Dead." Herb is shocked at the few words "Just say dead. I'm not a 8 year old child." "Well did she have any enemies then?" Driver shakes his head. "What about you?" Driver looks up confused at the question. “Huh?” “DO... YOU... have any enemies? Any at all?” Driver looks away from the officer as he briefly goes back 7 years ago when he used to live in LA. To a word of advice he was given before he left, “You start the rest of your life. Any dreams you have, ore plans, or hopes for your future... I think you’re going to have to put that on hold...”
Goes back to the dinner scene with Rose. Rose stares at Driver, “For the rest of your life, you’re gonna be looking over your shoulder.” We go back to Driver in his car sitting in the police parking lot. He looks down at the steering wheel. “I’m just telling you this because I want you to know the truth.” He slams hammer fist onto the horn as it sounds off and hits the steering wheel again and again til he’s a raging animal inside a car as he slams one more time and stops suddenly and stares with an exhausted look on his face.
Driver is now sitting at the containment room with some inmates for the night. One looks at him and driver notices and looks away not interested. The guy sniffs and walks up to him and sits next to him and no one sits next to Driver since he’s been there. “Hey man what you in for?” The driver doesn't answer. The guy continues “Hey I think I know you man. Yea.” Driver shows no expression as the guy looks back at his buds and they laugh as they know its some kind of joke. “You’re that guy who rode my uncle and my father one day. I think it was in San Diego?” Driver doesn't answer as he continues to stare at the floor. “I just wanted to know my papi got some serious time for that, gringo.” Driver doesn't look “Maybe he shouldn't have beaten your sister to death.” The guy gets upset “What did you just say?” The driver looks at him and repeats himself but in a more complicated edition. The guy tries to shank Driver but Driver catches the knife arm with one hand at the wrist and quickly like the blink of an eye, he snaps the guy’s wrist with a flick of Driver’s wrist and the guy drops the knife and screams holding his wrist. Driver takes hold over his mouth. The guy’s buddies go to help but Driver points at them warning them to stop where they are. They do as they saw what has done so far that is not to be messed with. Driver leans in close so only the guy can hear him as he groans over his broken wrist under Driver’s hand “Now go back to your corner and shut up...” Driver leans in closer to let his fire in his eyes to be seen, “Or I’ll break your freaking teeth down your throat and do it for you.” Driver takes his hand off and goes back to how he was as the guy bites his lip and goes back to his corner and his buddies ask what the hell was that? A police officer goes up to the cage and opens it/ “You’re free.” Driver looks up and sees the officer is looking at him. “Yea you monk. You’re free to go.” Driver gets up and grabs his coat and walks out quietly leaving the man with the broken wrist cussing in Spanish and Driver whispers in Spanish “Right back at ya.”
(Animals by Martin Garrix plays) The 1967 mustang drives down the street as he passes all the club lights and bars in town. Driver sees all the girls dressed in revealing clothes and the guys talking to their friends about bullsh** or about the girls that pass by without their notice. Driver goes to the back and drives into employee parking. The music dies and Driver sits resting back and looks at the door with the big bouncer outside standing by call. The driver looks at the passenger seat and goes to reach under the passenger seat and pulls out a huge blunt hammer. The driver looks at it and measures the weight and turns it over to see it’s tail end that takes out the nails. The driver then goes for a box filled with sunglasses and wigs. He takes the ones that make him look like a greasy but rich customer with the expensive Gucci glasses and the bad haircut of a wig. He sighs and gets out but takes off his jacket and places it in his seat.
P.O.V. - Outside the door
The bouncer lays down almost dead as blood is shown splattered on the white inside of the door. Driver walks through the door as he looks around as the lights ahead are flashing and playing the music Poppin Off by Watch The Duck plays. We see that the handle of the hammer is in the back-pocket and the handle with a bit of blood dripping. Driver walks out passes working girls that laugh and pay no mind. Driver dodges and moves out of others way and gets to a door that leads to the kitchen. The bartender yells “Hey you can’t be in there!” Driver doesn't hear and keeps walking as the small group look at him but continue on. There are a set of stairs at the back and Driver walks up. A guy goes down to tell him he’s not allowed. Suddenly the guy flies down the stairs as Driver now heads up still and the guy crashes into some pots and pans. Driver gets to a door and knocks in a tune. The eyesight opens and sees Driver ‘Oh shit” A opera musical plays out as Slow Motion = Driver kicks in the door as there is a big room with a Colombian dances at one corner in a cage and three dudes snorting coke on a wooden table and on a red fuzzy couch. The guy at the door falls back as Driver goes to the guy sitting next to the door and pulls out the hammer that has blood on the tail end and hits him on the side of the head and knocks him down. He goes inside for his gun and shoots the three guys who were doing coke and shoots them each in the chest before they get theirs. The girl shouts, the doorman goes for the driver, knocking the gun away. Driver headbutts him and punches his throat, making him gasp for air. The doorman goes for his gun but the driver beats him and fires it in its holster and shots the door man’s foot. The doorman screams in pain. Driver goes for the hammer on the ground and in one motion he grabs it and slams the tail end under the doorman’s jaw. The doorman is limp as the group of five going up the stairs fires an unholy share for bullets and the driver turns to use the body to take the bullets. The hammer holding the body. The guns shot flames and the bullet keep hitting either the dead guy or the background and extra bullets onto the three dead guys on the couch all the pictures or items with cushioning and feathers flying. [Stop Slow Motion] Finally they stop at once to reload. Driver takes on foot and kicks the body off the hammer to fling it at the group. Driver dives behind the door and places it up. He looks around and sees the tank of oxygen for the dude who’s passed out and places it in front of the door. He sees a fancy lighter with tweedy bird on it dressed in 49ers attire and black paint under his eyes that was once one of the dead junkies. The group gets the dead body off them and let it roll down the stairs. Driver turns the nob but it doesn't turn. [Slow MOTION] the group start to go up the stairs as the opera singer reaches a high note. Driver looks back at the hammer on the floor next to him and grabs it. The group gets closer to the door and closer. [stop slow motion] Driver sets the hammer in his hands and looks at the girl “Duck” The girl looks at him scared and confused “Wh...?” {SLOW MOTION} Driver quickly knocks off the nob with the hammer, oxygen hisses out of the tank, and turns the door over with the open tank of oxygen. Driver sets the light out and opens the eyesight and throws the light through. The lighter falls as the opera singer keeps the high note till the group stops in front of the door and sees the lighter all the way to the point tweedy meets the oxygen. BOOOMMM!!!! the tank explodes as Driver dives away from the door with his hammer and covers the guy he knocked out. Flames shoot out from the tank and engulfs the group of dudes and leads all the way down to the kitchen scaring the club and the kitchen crew. The fire alarm sounds as sprinklers go off trying to minimize the flames. The opera music goes to a complete stop as we look at the damage.
Driver is covered in wood shredding from the blast and dust as he coughs and look up with one half of his glasses completely gone and the lenses gone for the other half. His wig is messed up and to the side as he tries to get up and sees the guy he knocked is OK and the girl is crying under a desk praying to God and Jesus to save her. Driver sits up and coughs to look at the aftermath. He sees the whole room is wrecked and the junkie are on the floor with one of them burned on one side. Driver blanks his face and tries to get to his feet and groans wildly. Every muscle sore. He holds on side as he limps walking over to the desk and goes to look at the girl who is crying out of her wits. He watches her as she looks at him and cries thinking he’ll hurt her. He says in Columbine “I won’t hurt you. Where’s Pete?” She doesn't answer but in her own time and points at the door behind him that’s a big Maroon leather door that matches the red walls. Driver looks at her direction and then looks back at her “Gracie” Driver turns to the door as the girl gets up from the desk and runs out of the room not before she sees the burned to a crisp bodies and screams bloody murder and faints. Driver goes up to the door and knocks on it. No response. Driver clicks his tongue and looks back and sees the gun chamber on his left and tries to open it but it’s locked. Driver takes his hammer and smashes the glass in. Driver grabs the military grade shotgun. He looks at it and looks impressed and takes out shells. He shakes a few in his hands as some land on the ground. Driver loads the gun and hmms the tune of Poppin Off. He cocks the gun and gets to the chorus and aims.
POV - Far corner to see the door but not the guy in the chair. The door nob is blown off and the door swings easily off. Driver stands with a shot gun aimed in the darkness as one light is shown on a desk and a man with his chair to the door. The chair turns around and a man with a nice million dollar suit. There are TVs for the cameras to the side. (Irish Accent) “You do know how to knock on the door, old friend.” Driver breathes as he shows no remorse for this man.
Peter Ridge (Peter Capaldi) is shoved into a chair as Driver has taken him to an empty warehouse with one light over the chair on one light bulb. Peter straightens out his suit “Do you know how many suckers I had to kill to get this suit?” Driver doesn't answer as he stands in the shadows with his coat on and toothpick in his mouth. “If you are gonna kill me, can you at least do it where I would be SHOWN at my funeral?” Peter looks at Driver and sees How motionless he is. “Gotta say though... I got to love the magic of an artist.” Peter chuckles as he crosses his legs. “You know, you are the first person I think ever that has the mob wanting to kill you, but too scared to do it? I gotta say that takes some serious balls and talent at taking another’s life to have that fear. What the Spanish would call you. ‘Àngel caras demonio’ Man `if you have the spics scared but then again they believe in all that demon, biblical shit.” Peter looks at Driver as he just doesn't show what he is thinking. “One tough cookie, you are. I remember when I first heard your little fiasco in LA. One million dollars. Lives were lost. You killed two of the main shot callers in Hollywood. One I knew very well and liked, the other was a F***ing dumb Jew who thought robbing your daddy’s piggie bank was the best get-rich-quick scheme ever, who I am glad he’s dead and sad that he died as something as low as drowning. Guess the waves finally crushed Nino. About time, God Forbid.” Driver speaks softly “Who did it?” Peter is set back and unfolds his legs and leans forward. “What?” Driver rushes up and grabs Peter’s jaw and holds it open with a razor in the other. Peter tries to break away but Driver is stronger. “From now on, everything you’ll say will be the truth... Not one word other. If I find out I can’t get what I want, this....THIS pays a visit down mister esophagus. Take a pick” Peter’s eyes flash to horror as Driver lets go and slowly stands back up and stands tall in the light. Driver’s shadows covers Peter as he doesn't break eye contact. “OK OK OK, listen I don’t wanna cause any more death than there has to be...” “That’s not the answer.” “I’m just a part of the brain OK? I can say for a fact that me or anyone....” “Thats not the answer.” “None of us touched your wife...” “ANSWER THE GODDAMN QUESTION!!” Driver slams the hammer on a metal case next to Peter making Peter stare at the hammer stained with blood. Peter takes a glop and clears his throat. “One more chance...” “I can’t tell you. You have no idea what he’ll do to me if I told you even his name...” Driver grabs Peter and lifts him up to meet his face in a very scary, forceful way. Peter shouts out to save his ass as its done “S!!” Driver stops as he almost has the razor blades between Peter’s lips. “All I know I swear. S! He always called himself Mister S!” Driver looks at Peter with that intense look and shoves Peter down. Peter cries out as he becomes relieved. Driver stands looking away from Peter. “Oh God, oh Sweet Jesus, boy. You had me for a loop, I really thought...” “Oh I am.” Peter’s face becomes blank and all hope he just got disappeared. Driver goes for the light as Peter screams out in pain as the hammer can be heard cracking something.
“Find You By Zedd (Feat. feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant)” plays on the radio. The roads of Phoenix are bared at the dead of night. “I am not a monster.” He heads down the campus ground and sees the students walk around and enjoy life. “I am not a superhero.” Driver turns away from the students and drive on as the light turns green. He heads down the ghetto and sees all the thugs and deals going on. “I’m not a thug.... I’m not some assassin either.” Driver gets to the park area and goes into the parking lot. “I am not a saint or any religion.” We go to Peter as police rush into the warehouse and see Peter holding his mouth as blood leaks out. We go to a scene while Driver sits in his car looking at the beautiful park with a hill that shows the town straight ahead, where Driver is talking to an already dentisted Peter, “I want you to give a message to Mr. S....” Driver is seen washing the hammer in a metal sink that he brought and using a towel to get any that are left. “I will find him.” Driver stares out at the rising sunrise. He gets out of the car as he turns it off and walks up in front of the car to get a good look at it. “Tell him... I will kill him.” Driver puts the hammer into a gym bag and picks up something with the towel up and goes to clean it. “Tell him Mia is going to be at peace when I find him.” Driver sits down on the hood and goes to where he can be really comfortable. “And when I do... And I will.... I don’t care who I have to find, beat, or even kill... This will all be over until one of us is died.” The cops look around and find it clear as one of them goes up to Peter and asks him what happened. Back to the former scene, Driver gets done cleaning whatever he picked up and turns to Peter who is breathing slowly and steady. “You got all that? Hate for the medication to mess up your next and only job.” Driver throws whatever he picked up at Peter and stands up puts his sink into the case and grabs his bag and walks off. “Thank you for your time.” Driver walks into the darkness as we go down as see the thing Driver threw at Peter are five teeth to his upper row of teeth. Driver watches the sun shine up and over the city. The light rises up to the driver till it reaches all of him and fades to black with the music fading out.
